About Us
Founded in 2023, Piano Shells Houston was created by award-winning pianist and entertainer Joi Keeling to bring a more refined standard of presentation to live keyboard performance.
A nationally recognized performer and recipient of the 2025 Piano Ladies Trailblazer Award, Joi’s career has taken her from Disney Cruise Line stages to national television in Japan, including two appearances on NHK’s Nodojiman. Her years performing at weddings, corporate events, luxury venues and large-scale productions shaped a clear understanding of how much visual presentation matters.
Raised in New Orleans and performing professionally since the age of 15, Joi grew up surrounded by the elegance of live piano music—from churches and recital halls to the sophisticated jazz lounges of downtown New Orleans. As her career expanded, she saw a recurring gap in event production: beautifully designed spaces were often paired with exposed keyboards and utilitarian stands that simply did not match the caliber of the event.
